Job Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day technical engineering support ensuring the safe, efficient availability and reliability of the company’s Research facility and assets. To include breakdowns, process improvements, project scope development and completion, systems, procedures and processes support, development, and maintenance.
  • Provide technical and chemical engineering support resolving operational issues within agreed areas. Monitor the reliability of assigned equipment, troubleshoot problems & proactively seek improvements.
  • Provide design review & assurance for BP during external procurement of small to medium scale laboratory research equipment.
  • Support the delivery of Management of Change (MoC) processes using approved methods and process assurance practices, ensuring deviations are properly authorised and actions are completed.
  • Complete project design aspects including vessels, tubing, pressure control/relief and small-scale lab equipment.
  • Complete process design calculations for small-scale lab equipment and produce datasheets for equipment purchase.
  • Support the delivery of assigned research programmes & capital projects. Ensure the controlled development, application and monitoring of site technical specifications, policies and procedures appropriate to Hull Labs.
  • Maintain and develop personal competence completing required development ensuring awareness of current procedures, rules and regulations that apply to responsibilities.
  • Propose and justify modifications to equipment or to operating procedures to improve safety/efficiency/reliability of equipment & processes. Ensure all modifications meet statutory and Company standards and are correctly closed out.

Qualifications

  • Degree, or equivalent qualification in Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience if working and contributing to a 24/7 chemical, gas or energy process.
  • Competent in producing process design calculations and datasheets.
